Hippie owner, Sarah Rose, is excited to not only carry the books but to also be the host for an author Meet and Greet. I didn't make any New Year's resolutions this year. As a general rule I find I don't keep them anyway. It's easy to say I'm going to do better at this or that or I'm no longer going to do that or this, but it's hard to follow through when old habits are so firmly formed. The only resolution that has ever worked relatively well for me is this: "I resolve to be open to new possibilities." It basically comes down to simply reminding myself to keep myself open to any and all possibilities, whatever...
To all our friends, customers and members, we hope your holiday season was pleasant and memorable. This month we're excited to celebrate our First Year Anniversary. Our Toys for Tots Drive normally ends up close to 1,000 toys between our "Christmas In July" and Christmas campaigns. This year our city really came through for our kids. During the December toy drive alone, we ended up with just over 1,100 toys! We had some businesses who really came through for us this and every year. Tehachapi Martial Arts had a few hundred toys, while Save Mart and Flying J brought over several toys on their own. Miramar and Country Real Estate are other locations that had...

Dear Family, It's been a great and challenging year for the Tehachapi Arts Center. We have experienced so many changes...

For nearly 25 years, Mountain Music served the community as Tehachapi’s downtown music store. Even with the pandemic, it kept a presence downtown with a booth in the Treasure Trove, which is now the Arts Center. “I couldn’t leave the community without a place to buy reeds, strings, capos and other musical necessities,” said owner and founder Deborah Hand, who sat out the lockdown by writing books (available at the Arts Center) and plays. Now the store at 206 E. F St., Tehachapi, will be back in time for Christmas. The “elves” have been workin...

All that changed after she was injured in an automobile accident. While recovering, Mo found the time to renew her passion for art. Which she will share with us for the month of...
