    Local Team Liberty BMX racers recently competed in the California Summer State Games held in San Diego on July 24 at San Diego BMX. The Games are set up to celebrate the Olympic Spirit of competition among Californians. Before the race started a symbolic State Games Torch was passed around the track. Like so many other events for athletes, BMX tracks have only been allowed to hold practice and clinics the last few months.     Tehachapi Valley Wrestling Club started their Freestyle and Greco Roman season with the Kern County Wrestling Association. Arvin Grizzlies hosted the "Grizzlies Olympic Year Countdown" with kids from five years old to high school competing in the two Olympic styles of wrestling. They started the big weekend off with the CVYWA Masters competition at Corcoran, which combined qualifiers from the North and South Valley events. Bakersfield Jr. Drillers hosted the CVYWA Super Bowl Blitz on Feb. 1.     The Tehachapi Valley Wrestling Club placed third as a team at the Shooting Stars Tournament Jan. 19 at North High School.     Tehachapi Valley Wrestling Club recently traveled to Tulare to compete at one of the toughest Valley Tournaments, the “10th Annual California Republic.” The tournament was a two-day event with Middle School Divisions competing on Saturday.     Tehachapi Valley Wrestling Club has started their wrestling season with 50 boys and girls from kindergarten to eighth grade. The team is divided into three practice groups: middle school, grades 2-5 and grades K-1, to ensure that each wrestler receives a lot of individual attention.
