    Ten years ago, a simple idea was born – to have a party to raise money for local nonprofit organizations. The idea took shape and the first Cheers to Charity (C2C) event took place in the parking lot outside of what was then Veritas Wine Bar.     More than 300 residents gathered for a joyous ribbon cutting on June 15 as the Tehachapi Hitching Post Theater celebrated its re-opening. The theater was packed! Before the celebration, free popcorn, hotdogs, gifts and theater gift cards were handed out to guests from #LoveTehachapi volunteers. Classic cars were parked in front of the theater to add to the nostalgic ambiance of the day.     At their May 6 meeting, the Tehachapi City Council approved a project proposed by the city to add a 15 foot x 20 foot expansion space behind the BeeKay Theatre. The new area will be exterior walls only with other improvements to be decided and financed by the Tehachapi Community Theater organization.
