  • Which trees do best in Tehachapi?

    Rick Gillies|Mar 13, 2021

I have been asked several times just this past week for citrus and avocado trees. You can tell when people are just moving to Tehachapi by what they ask for. I had to tell them I'm sorry, but they don't grow up here in the mountains. Why not? Citrus is damaged when the temperature is 25-27 degrees for three to four hours during the night. This year our low so far has been around 16 degrees, which could kill a citrus tree, at least the flowers, for the coming season. They grow great in...

"The term 'juicing' refers to a type of diet where a person consumes only juices for a specified period of time. We're not here to make a judgment call on the healthfulness of juicing but we will stand...

Each couple was awarded money for a correct answer, and the couple with the most money at the end of the show won. If the couples were tied in winnings, they were then asked a que...

  • Covering your webcam

    Greg Cunningham, owner of Tech-hachapi|Mar 13, 2021

Video conferencing, whether we're using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, BlueJeans or another tool, has become a big part of our lives since you-know-what-that-must-not-be-named. Webcams have moved from a nice-to-have feature to pretty darn indispensable for lots of people. They're how we go to meetings, attend classes and hang out with friends and family far away. Whenever a critical mass of people uses a device or a technology, criminals figure out how to exploit it. Here, it's called...

  • When should I see a chiropractor?

    Kevin Brown DC, contributing writer|Mar 13, 2021

Hi. I'm Dr. Brown, and I want to be your chiropractor. Most people come to the chiropractor when they are in pain, usually back pain, neck pain, headache or a similar symptom. That is like waiting to go to the dentist until you have a toothache. By then it is too late; you missed the chance to prevent decay and the resulting pain. After 25 years in practice I am still giving the same message. Don't wait till it hurts. Chiropractic treatment is called an adjustment. It is not called an overhaul...

  • Catalytic Converter failure: three common causes

    Protech Auto Service|Mar 13, 2021
