Apple pie makes your face look great

September 23, 2023

Provided.

We've heard the chatter and we are trying to meet the demand. We will have more apple pie vendors at the Apple Festival this year.

One of the highlights of Saturday's activities on Oct. 14 is the Apple Pie Eating Contest. The contest will be on Green Street just outside of Centennial Plaza. It takes place at 2 p.m. on Saturday and we can accommodate up to 12 participants. There are cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

It's hilarious to watch a group of adults willing to stick their entire face into a pie plate and gobble pie as quickly as they can. You can be there to cheer them on and help get their adrenalin going. The more they hear you roar, the more they eat. Join us as a watcher or better yet, try your skills at eating a pie as fast as you can without utensils or hands. Plow your face into the pie and go!

Believe it or not, eating contests are more than seeing who can eat the most and the fastest at the county fair. Eating contests take place during festivals around the country celebrating heritage, food and culture. You can check out some of the area's best pie eaters.

You have to sign a release form and should be over 18 years old to participate. We have accepted younger people if their parents are willing to sign the release form. If you want to sign up in advance, text (818) 519-7144 and we will get you the form.
