Popular family counselors Dr. David and Lisa Frisbie are the authors of 25 books (none self-published) on topics of relationships, parenting and family life. They have appeared on “Good Morning, America” and on many other national and local broadcasts, often discussing the post-divorce family.
The husband-and-wife duo will be featured at the Tehachapi Christian Store downtown at 108 E. Tehachapi Boulevard. Dr. and Mrs. Frisbie will meet guests and sign many of their recent books from Noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 16th.
“We both love the Tehachapi area,” Lisa Frisbie says with a smile. “We often stop for a night or two on our way up to Yosemite or Sequoia parks. The local shops and restaurants along the downtown strip are very inviting — we are regular guests at several of them.”
Among their books to be featured “The Soul-Mate Marriage” has been discussed on popular radio programs such as Focus on the Family, HomeWord with Jim Burns, and MoneyLife with Chuck Bentley. First released in 2010, the book is in its fourth printing. The book helps couples grow closer, building a strong affection.
Another recent book “Right from the Start: Couples Guide” is aimed at helping dating and engaged couples sort through their challenging issues before the wedding, rather than after. The book tackles five tough subjects from the perspective of both “experience” and “expectations” in marriage. “A little drama now beats a lot of trauma later,” Dr. Frisbie advises.
The happily married couple is in constant demand to speak at events for couples and families — including retreats, conferences and camps. To date the pair have traveled to all 50 US states, 9 provinces and 2 territories of Canada, and 42 world nations. They are involved in a long-term project to teach and train family counselors in Central and Eastern Europe.
Dr. David Frisbie is an adjunct professor at three universities, including Point Loma Nazarene University in Southern California. In addition he teaches and lectures at other colleges and seminaries on a regular basis.
Dr. and Mrs. Frisbie make their home in Southern California. They are faculty members of the San Diego Christian Writers Guild, which helps to mentor and nurture aspiring writers.
The authors Dr. David and Lisa Frisbie will be signing their books at Tehachapi Christian Store, 108 E. Tehachapi Boulevard (downtown) on Saturday, August 16th from 12 Noon to 3 P.M.
