As Stray Leaves joins the festive season alongside Downtown Tehachapi for the first time, a few fun things have been happening around the tasting room, located at 123 S. Green St., Tehachapi.
It was so exciting to see a lot of you during the Tehachapi Hometown Christmas activities, inside the tasting room and alongside the parade route! Cliff Meridth, our owner, joined the march down F Street in a horse drawn wagon! His two horses, Juliette and Isabell, did a great job pulling the lit-up wine barrels on the route! Meanwhile, it was exciting to see so many new and familiar faces crowd in for some warmth and wine the entire day.
Another fun thing that happened at the same time was the downtown window decorating contest! We thank Lyn Bennett, who painted our mural out front, for painting all the festive art on our tasting room windows. Our windows feature the two vineyard dogs, Kate, the first vineyard dog in which our Kate's Reserves are aptly named and the current vineyard dog, Balanca. There is also a scene of our snow- covered vineyard and Cliff Merdith and Krista Tidd riding in the wagon with the two horses in front. With our windows wonderfully decorated, we are proud to take home first place in the judges' vote for our windows!
With Christmas just around the corner, Stray Leaves is enjoying all that comes with it! Come join us as the season continues to enjoy our decorated windows and even join our Wine Club for added benefits! Our Wine Club is free to join, with two six-bottle purchases in March and August. The allocation is customizable and costs approximately $210 for each six-bottle pack. Stray Leaves throws a small event for members to enjoy and pick up their purchases. Along with the bi-yearly wine pick-up, our members get a free tasting for them and a friend each visit, as well as 20% off glass and bottle prices, and 30% off case prices!
