Tehachapi Valley Wrestling Club

 


Tehachapi Valley Wrestling Club has been busy competing in the Kern County Wrestling Association tournament schedule.

Two outstanding wrestlers have gone undefeated in the KCWA meets so far this year, Jacob Cardenas, Rookie 55lb and Bill Takara 100lb Novice.

April 16, TVWC competed at Arvin Grizzlies Tournament with Jacob Cardenas and Jairden Medina placing first in their Divisions. Levi Hart, Elijah Graves and Stephan Meek took 2nd place and Cayden Castrellon placed 5th.

The same weekend was the California Greco State and Cadet Freestyle Tournament in Fresno. TVWC sent Bill Takara to his first Greco event and he placed 4th. Zachary Dobbins competed in Freestyle and received 6th place.

April 23 Elite Force hosted the KCWA Meet with Jacob Cardenas and Kayden Gonzales placing first. Elijah Graves, Jairden Medina, and Levi Hart were 2nd. Julian Cardenas finished 3rd and first year wrestler James Simon placed 6th.

Eastern Sabers hosted “KCWA Salute to Veterans” tournament on April 30. Jacob Cardenas, Kayden Gonzales, Jairden Medina, Zach Dobbins and Bill Takara all were champions. Julian Cardenas celebrated his birthday with a 2nd place medal. Elijah Grave took 3rd, James Simon placed 4th and Dalton Vaughan placed 5th.

Shafter played host for the Coyote Classic May 7. Jacob Cardenas and Bill Takara earned the Coyote trophy. Zach Dobbins and Jairden Medina finished 2nd. Levi Hart and Elijah Graves received 3rd place. Kayden Gonzales and Julian Cardenas came in 5th.

“Our wrestlers have been showing up consistently and improving each week” said Coach Curt Nelson.
