Now you see it, soon you won't

The Loop's Local Scene

A final photo of the front of the derelict country club, what was for many years a gathering and entertainment place for residents of Golden Hills and their guests.

A familiar landmark is about to disappear. A lot of Tehachapi history, going back for five or more decades, will soon be going up in smoke. The joint efforts of the Golden Hills CSD Board and the Kern County Fire Department will come together as a "live fire drill" when the old, now derelict country club building is set to flame in a fire department training exercise. Weather permitting, the training and burning of the structure will take place in the mid morning hours of May 5, 2016. All precautions for public safety will be in effect and drivers should be aware that traffic along Woodford-Tehachapi Road might be impacted by the fire department drill.
