Stop the drought, drink stout (or whatever beer or wine you want)

Many exciting new plans have been added to the Tehachapi Mountain Beer and Wine Festival. It takes place on July 18 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Benz Sports Complex in Tehachapi.

Many breweries have submitted craft beers for the Beer Competition. National and state sanctioned beer judges will be tasting the entries and determining the best brew in several categories. This competition takes place off site, but, the winner of the best brews will be announced at the Beer and Wine Festival at 6 p.m.

Limited RV parking is available from Friday night after 6 p.m. until Sunday morning at 11 a.m. There will be a movie screening at the park on Friday night for your fun and entertainment and pasta dinner available.

Games including life size Jenga and Corn Hole will be set up for play during the event. Live music includes the incredibly energetic, rhythmic sounds of Mento Buru and the opening band, Therese & The Sweetness. Hundreds of different beers from over 70 breweries will be available along with wine from over 20 wineries.

Tickets are $45 general admission and $100 VIP. For online purchase go to http://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-tehachapi-mountain-beer-and-wine-fest-tickets-15687684286. See you there. Bring your chairs, blankets, umbrellas and hang out on the grass.
