In Central Park

Speakeasy is a smooth jazz quartet from Bakersfield, Calif. that believes in the art of music. The band consists of four friends who have a love of all genres of music but share a desire to express their talents through the smooth jazz forum.

The members of Speakeasy, who met at church playing Worship music together include Don Jacobsen who plays the tenor and alto saxaphone, Daniel Saldania plays electric guitar, Joe Verdugo plays Keyboards and Daniel Lopez plays drums and percussion.

On occasion the band will also have close friends sit in with them.

Fusing the cultures of Pop music, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz, and Rock help to give Speakeasy their signature sound and the ability to offer something for audiences alike. Speakeasy started as a one time project in the spring of 2009 and has evolved into a working band that has performed at many venues. Speakeasy has a passion to reach the community with a high quality, encouraging message.

Speakeasy has played in support of several "non-profit" agencies, as well as, office parties, weddings, grand openings and political campaigns throughout Kern County, and has also been known to put their spin on holiday classics during the Christmas season.

The primary mission of Speakeasy is to provide that last touch of class and elegance to any event or gathering and to provoke many happy memories through music.

So grab your dancing shoes or simply relax and kick up your feet in your favorite chair and enjoy the stylings of Speakeasy.
