Council recognizes local AAUW

On March 4, the Tehachapi City Council recognized the local chapter of the American Association of University Women on their 40th anniversary.
The group was founded in 1984 and became the 93rd branch in California. The group received recognition from the Council, as well as from Assemblyman Vince Fong and State Senator Shannon Grove. From left are Councilwoman Jeanette Pauer, Lauren Hollen, Netti Ferrar, Councilwoman Joan Pogon-Cord (also a member of the group), Mayor Michael Davies, Phyllis Belcher, Councilman Phil Smith, AAUW President Jane Custer and Dominic Heiden representing Senator Grove.
The Tehachapi City Council meets on the first and third Monday of the month at 6 p.m. They are currently meeting at the Police Department Community Room, 220 W. C St.
