Tehachapi has many wonderful accounting firms, but today, I want to introduce you to a firm you may not have heard of. Bradford, Cox & Madhavani CPAs has recently opened a Tehachapi branch and they are ready to help.
Bradford, Cox & Madhavani opened their local branch in Tehachapi in October 2022, but the company was established in 1956 and has served the Antelope Valley and Kern communities for decades.
"Our business offers a wide range of services in all industries. We assist clients with tax returns of any kind, including individual, corporate, partnership and more," said Laura Bradford, CPA. "We offer business management services and general consulting services, bookkeeping, payroll and more. Our clients are from every sector, such as real estate, construction, medical, law, entertainment, production, IT, website management, hospitality, dining, you name it."

One reason the team is so committed is because of Laura's leadership and expertise. When Laura was 18 years old, she worked at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, where her boss saw something in her and encouraged her to pursue accounting. At the time, Laura didn't have any interest in anything that had to do with math. Her boss paid for her to take a class, and after reluctantly taking him up on his offer, she learned that she had a knack for accounting and actually enjoyed it. She went on to become a CPA and was hired by a firm shortly after. To this day, Laura genuinely loves her job. From crunching the numbers to meeting with clients, she loves coming to work each day. When she meets with a client she has had for 30 years, it's like catching up with an old friend. "I can't imagine anything else I'd rather do."
In 2023, the firm celebrated three successes. They brought on two new partners, Sarah Cox, EA and Mayank Madhavani, CPA, and expanded to fill a Tehachapi location to better serve their customers. They also merged another tax practice (Tax Service Specialist in Palmdale), and successfully integrated the two firms. Now, Bradford, Cox & Madhavani serves 4,000 tax clients. However, they are just getting started. The firm has plans to let the community know they are committed by focusing on the goal of keeping a full time CPA on staff.
