Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra Winter Concert, March 10

 

March 2, 2024



The Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. David Newby, will be performing on Sunday, March 10 at Country Oaks Baptist Church, 20915 Schout Rd., Tehachapi, beginning at 4 p.m.

The program will begin with Brahms Concerto for Violin and Cello featuring Lawrence Sonderling, violin, and David Garrett, cello. The Brahms Concerto premiered in Cologne in October 1887 with Joseph Joachim and Robert Hausmann as soloists.

After the intermission, TSO will continue with Beethoven, Symphony No. 7 in A Major. The 7th symphony was completed in 1812 and debuted on December 8, 1813 in the auditorium of the University of Vienna, led by Beethoven. The concert was a benefit for troops wounded in the Battle of Hanau.

Audience members may meet directors, soloists, and musicians during the reception following the concert.
