Celebration of Life
Victoria Lee Vermillion, of California City, left this world suddenly on the evening of Feb. 16 at the age of 72.
Vicki was born on Nov. 10, 1951, to Leonard Waldroupe and Melva Gilbreath in Torrance, California. Growing up in the LA area, Vicki settled in California City after marrying the love of her life, John Vermillion in 1978. Together, they started a family and had four children, Jamie, Rebecca, Charles and Andrea. John and Vicki remained married for 37 years until John's passing in 2017.
Vicki was employed by the Mojave Unified School District from 1989-1998, where she worked in food services, and served as a union representative.
Known lovingly as Auntie Vicki to all, and a second mother to many. Vicki was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was involved in many city and county community events. Devoted countless hours of volunteer work with the school district and the Antelope Valley Fair, as well as creating strong and loving lifelong friendships over the years with many lovely ladies.
She is survived by her sister Patricia Figueroa and brother Timothy Talbert; son Charles, daughters Jamie, Rebecca (Jason) and Andrea; grandsons Chace and Jakob Jones.
There will be a Celebration of Life at First Baptist Church in California City on March 30 at noon.
