Each year the Rotary Club of Tehachapi sponsors an essay contest for elementary, junior high and high school students based on the Rotary 4-Way Test: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? This year's winners have been announced. They are as follows:
High School
1st place: Elliott Gonzales, Valley Oaks Charter School - $200

2nd place: Annie Loken, Tehachapi High School - $75
3rd place: Kathlyn Ordaz, Tehachapi High School - $50
Middle School
1st place: Serena Thornburg, Jacobsen Middle School - $100

2nd place: Hailey Garcia, Valley Oaks Charter School - $75

Elementary School

Congratulations to all the students who entered. They each will receive a certificate and a 4-Way coin. Rotary is proud of our local students and will be submitting the two 1st Place essays for consideration in the Rotary District Essay competition.
