On Jan. 16, TVRPD held their first board meeting of 2024, where they voted in a new board. Maryann Paciullo was elected to serve as chair, succeeding Kaleb Judy in the role, with Dwight Dreyer elected as vice-chair. After the elections, District Manager Corey Torres was excited to announce that planning is underway for the 2024 Fishing Derby at Brite Lake, which will take place on May 18. Torres also shared good news about the youth basketball program. With 532 kids and 60 teams, the season has seen record numbers of participation. The board is excited for what the new year will bring for TVRPD and the Tehachapi community.
