11th annual Rotary Wine Pairing Dinner, Jan. 27

January 6, 2024

Provided.

If you enjoy meeting fun loving people, eating incredible food and enjoying great wine then this is the event for you.

This year, the Rotary Club of Tehachapi has secured five amazing wines from Eberle Vineyards of Paso Robles. The wines were given to chef Mano Lujan, who tastes each one and develops a menu that not only enhances the food, but also brings out the best of the wines. Mano will talk about what he made and why.

The Wine Pairing Dinner on Jan. 27 starts at 6 p.m. at the newly renovated old Moose Lodge at 123 W. F St. (corner of F and Curry streets). We start with a wine mixer to give everyone an opportunity to mix and mingle, check out the silent auction items and then be seated. Once seated, a four-course meal including appetizers, salad, entrée and dessert, each with a suggested wine from the Eberle Winery and then carefully paired with the food. There is time and plenty of room between courses to get up, talk to friends, make a bid, etc. We want this to be a relaxing yet memorable evening for food and wine lovers. We encourage anyone new to Tehachapi to join us to meet some of our wonderful Tehachapians.

This is one of the largest fundraising events for the Rotary Club of Tehachapi. Rotary is a service organization known for its worldwide impact on the eradication of polio and fighting other disease, creating water purifying projects, peace activities and so much more. Locally, the Rotary Club has a huge impact on our community through projects like Breakfast with Santa (free breakfast and pictures with Santa for families), 12 Days of Christmas (giving boxes of food to those in need), SOAR (recognizing achievement in middle school), Scholarships for graduating seniors, Say Yes (creating positive thinking in teens), Kindergarten books, Sewing Project (support), Coats for Kids (support), plus we support two Interact Clubs where High School Students do projects to give back to the community. Rotary also offers a free annual Afternoon Tea for Seniors and offers financial or volunteer support when we can.

Attendance is $125 per person and should be purchased in advance from Linda Carhart at (818) 519-7144. To learn more about Rotary or inquire about membership, contact Tim Trujillo at (661) 821-0086.
