Council recognizes Scout Troop 3

Tehachapi City Council Update

October 14, 2023

At the Oct. 2 City Council meeting, Clare Scotti, Executive Director of the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce, the Tehachapi City Council and representatives from the offices of Congressman Kevin McCarthy, State Senator Shannon Grove, State Assemblyman Vince Fong and County Supervisor Zack Scrivner presented Certificates of Recognition to the members of Boy Scout Troop 3 for the services they performed during Mountain Festival.

"When Tropical Storm Hilary was making itself known, forcing the cancellation of the Mountain Festival, the Tehachapi Boy Scout Troop 3 jumped into action with their sense of community. When the rain started pouring, the Scouts quickly turned their attention to helping the Chamber and festival vendors pack up safely.

"Each scout looked for where help was needed, and they efficiently and safely got others on their way. One vendor had hundreds of items fall during the rush and in less than a minute several scouts were at the booth helping to pick and move the items safely to the vehicle. Troop 3 stayed until everything had been cleared and guests and vendors had safely left. We want to commend the integrity and dedication of Troop 3. Thank you!" said Director Scotti.

The Tehachapi City Council meets on the first and third Monday of the month at 6 p.m. They are currently meeting at the Police Department Community Room, 220 W. C St.
