On Sept. 7, Richard Chapman of the Kern Economic Development Council and Christina Scrivner representing the Kern Economic Development Foundation presented a $25,000 check to the Flight Test Museum Foundation at Edwards Air Force Base. For those who may not know, the museum, which is scheduled to open in 2025, will be located outside the west gate of Edwards Air Force Base and will be one of the largest aviation museums in the world.

On hand to receive the donation at the existing museum facility were Paul Vitale, President of the Airport Association; Art Thompson, Chairman of the Board of the Flight Test Museum Foundation; Wanda Killian, Treasurer of the Flight Test Museum Foundation and Rex Moen representing the Friends of the Flight Test Museum.

A few hours earlier on Sept. 7, Chapman and Scrivner made a State of the County presentation at the meeting of the Tehachapi Rotary Club including promoting the upcoming Stemposium for Kern County High School students interested in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
