"Poppy" by Coral Degagne.

TVAA Gallery 'N' Gifts presents its May guest artist Coral Degagne. Coral has been a Tehachapi resident for 46 years. Her interest in art took off once she started cutting glass, and she hasn't slowed down since.

With 18 years of experience "braking glass and putting it back together," her work has become more intricate and amazing with every piece she finishes. Her sensibility for colors, shapes and contrast is translated into all of her work.

Coral has worked with stained, fused and etched glass, and in her May show, she will present us with her newest adventure ... Mosaic.

"I love using all the tools needed to shape glass into an image that's so full of bright color that will continually change from sunrise, when the colors appear, till the colors fade with the sunset," she said.

You can find her stained glass art work at the Tehachapi Adventist Hospital Chapel.

Come and join us to welcome Coral during our "Cinco de Mayo" First Friday celebration, on Friday May 5, 4 to 7 p.m. at Gallery 'N' Gifts, 100 W. Tehachapi Blvd. Hors d'oeuvres and margaritas will be served.

Coral's exhibition "...eek, there's a hippie in my garden," will be on display throughout the month of May at our Fine Arts Gallery. Make sure to stop by to admirea her work and support this wonderful local artist. Gallery 'N' Gifts is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. She can be reached for custom work at her Visions Stained Glass Studio, 20733 South St., #C or by calling (661) 428-0139.
