Tehachapi Rotarians are looking forward to their upcoming annual Wine Pairing Dinner.
With an incredible reputation for a fantastic evening of food, wine and friendship, the Rotary Club of Tehachapi is proud to present the 9th Annual Wine Pairing Dinner on May 6. The event will be held at Slice of Life Enrichment Center, 48771 W. Valley Blvd. , Tehachapi, at 6 p.m. This venue is roomy, comfortable and inviting. The Wine Pairing Dinner features a silent auction and a mystery wine pull. Tickets are $125 per person ($100 overhead/$25 donation to Rotary) which includes five different wines served with a four-course meal.
This year our featured winery is Saucelito Canyon Winery of Edna Valley. The first wine will be served during our opening mix and mingle. The wine is a 2021 Rose (70% Zin, 20% Grenache, 10% Tempranillo) which is quite refreshing and a pleasant opener to the event. For the appetizer course, we'll be serving a 2021 Grenache, soup/salad will be served with a 2020 Dos Mas, which is a red blend of Grenache/Zin/Petite Sirah. The main course will be served with 2020 Estate Zin and the meal will finish with a dessert course served with a wonderful red wine called Elodie which is a deep rich blend and the pride of the winemaker.
Mano Lujan will be tasting wines and creating a menu that brings out the best of the food with the best of the wine. Creating an original and unique menu for this event has given Mano an outlet to use all the culinary skills he's studied over the last many years. The Rotary Club of Tehachapi has benefitted from the various cuisines Mano created, which have helped to create the "buzz" for this event as an experience in Tehachapi that should not be missed.
