What's Up in Stallion Springs?

Stallion Springs Parks and Recreation has gone online with RecDesk. Sign-ups are available from the CSD website. Families can sign up on http://www.stallionspringscsd.com. Look for “activity sign ups.” All registrations for events, activities and pool access will be done through this site.

Stallion Springs Church is now offering a food pantry drive-thru distribution. The next available dates will be on Saturday, March 11 and April 8 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. It is open to all, with no income verification required. Stallion Springs Church is located at 18151 St. Andrews Dr., Tehachapi.

A Grief Share, Grief Recovery Support Group 13-week study will be held on Wednesdays beginning Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Stallion Springs Church Fellowship Hall. The cost for the program is $20.

Parks and Recreation has a part-time position available to include a variety of duties. For the full job description, go to the website: http://www.stallionspringscsd.com/jobs. They are also looking for lifeguards for the pool this summer. Candidates must have a Red Cross Lifeguard certificate. The 2-year certification in Lifeguarding includes First Aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. Other prerequisites are completion of the online Lifeguarding Pre-Assessment prior to the in-person class, a 300-yard swim test, 10-pound brick test and the ability to tread water without hands for two minutes. Lifeguarding Certification classes are available through Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District.

Stallion Springs CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) will hold their next monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the CSD located at 27800 Stallion Springs Dr. The group was formed in 2003 under the guidance of the Stallion Springs Police Department.

CSD Board monthly meeting

The CSD monthly meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the CSD building at 27800 Stallion Springs Dr. The next meeting will be on Feb. 21. The public is invited to attend.

Houchin Blood Bank

Houchin Community Blood Bank will be having their next blood drive on Saturday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stallion Springs Community Service District, 27800 Stallion Springs Dr. To make an appointment, visit HCBB.com/schedule.
