Christian Life Assembly serves Tehachapi

Rotary Club of Tehachapi

August 14, 2021

Misty and Kevin Caudle, pastors of the Christian Life Assembly Church on Valley Blvd. in Tehachapi, were the guest speakers at the first Rotary meeting in the month of August. They both grew up in Tehachapi and have a strong desire to serve this community.

Kevin explained that a few years ago he attended a City Council meeting and was dismayed to discover that, as the council members discussed organizations to approach for help with various community needs and projects, not one church was brought up or suggested. Kevin left that meeting determined that his church would be known for meeting the needs of the city, with no strings attached.

Since then, the Caudles have led their church to volunteer and serve across the community. As an organization, Christian Life Assembly has adopted Golden Hills School, created the Orchard Glen Halloween Project and have partnered with CityServe. The church campus has provided space for various community needs such as twelve-step recovery meetings and support groups. Misty explained that although they want to serve, they don’t always know where the needs are. She pointed out how important it has been for CLA to develop a “listening ear.” In other words, to be on the lookout for ways to serve the community.
