Towneplace Suites by Marriott issued Building Permit for new Tehachapi hotel in Capital Hills
After receiving approval from the Planning Commission in early 2019, the developers of the new Towneplace Suites by Marriott in Capital Hills have been issued their building permit. The three-story hotel will consist of 82 rooms and will be over 46,000 square feet.
Holiday shopping still needs physical stores, plenty available locally
The International Council of Shopping Centers claims that this holiday season the importance of physical stores grows as more shoppers plan to buy online and pick up in store.
According to ICSC, nine of 10 shoppers plan to make purchases in physical stores this holiday season while 97 percent plan to purchase online and pick up in store. Of those shoppers, 82 percent say they will make additional purchases when picking up their items.
With that in mind, local retail options are abundant in 2019 as Tehachapi residents can not only save a trip out of town, but also save money as well.

Economic Development 'Why Tehachapi' story presented at GTEDC & Bakersfield Association of Realtors
The City of Tehachapi presented their recent Economic Development success with both the Greater Tehachapi Economic Development Council and the Bakersfield Association of Realtors in November. The presentation covered why people are moving to Tehachapi, the demographics that support development and the attraction to the area by investors and residents statewide.
Three grand openings round out the month of November
The City of Tehachapi joined the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce in welcoming three new businesses to round out the month of November. "A" Barber Shop at 1121 W. Valley Blvd., Fairway Mortgage at 401 S. Curry St. and High Ton Darts at 414 W. Tehachapi Blvd., Ste. K. This brings the total number of grand openings in the City of Tehachapi to 11 in 2019.
