Tehachapi Humane Society is making some big changes

Tehachapi Humane Society

January 19, 2019

The Tehachapi Humane Society is the oldest humane organization in the Tehachapi area. The grassroots organization has been forced to make some major changes. The Humane Society’s office on Golden Star will be closed as of April 1. Therefore, they will not be able to hand out pet food to low income pet owners. There are other humane organizations in the area who do help folks with pet food, although it may not be on a regular basis, Dr. Billingsley will still hold vaccination clinics; but after the March vaccination clinic, they will be held at her office in Sand Canyon. There will no longer be any Fix Your Pet clinics that were held twice a month, but the spay/neuter voucher program will fill that need.

The small group of volunteers will keep their most important programs going. This includes the spay/neuter voucher program, the feral cat spay/neuter program, lost/found and community assistance. Their phone number will remain the same. Please call this number (661) 823-0699 for more information on any of these programs.
