GranFondo volunteers honored

Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District

On the evening of Dec. 10, Tehachapi GranFondo ride coordinator Michelle Vance presented checks totaling $25,000 to 20 volunteer organizations that donated their time and efforts to help put on the 5th GranFondo on Sept. 15. Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District were the new organizers for the successful event and their December Board Meeting was the perfect venue for the presentation. The groups honored were Bear Valley CERT, Sand Canyon FOR-CERT, Bear Valley Volunteers in Police Service, Bike Bakersfield, CHPVolunteers SVP 830 Senior Volunteer Mojave Area, Daughters of the American Revolution, Desert Search and Rescue Unit, Golden Hills & City FOR-CERT, Kern County Sheriff Explorers Post 519, Kern County Sheriff Reserves, Kiwanis Club of Tehachapi, Stallion Springs CERT, Stallion Springs CSU, Tehachapi Cheer, Tehachapi Citizen Service Unit, Tehachapi Lions Club, Tehachapi Mountain Search & Rescue, Tehachapi Police Foundation, Tehachapi TOURISM COMMISSION, Tehachapi Warrior Boosters and THS Football.
