Pioneer True Value delivers!
Randy Katai is new to Pioneer True Value Home Center but he is not new to the world of lumber and hardware. Randy earned his degree in mechanical engineering which led to a career designing intricate mechanical floats for the Rose Parade and creating special effects for movies. This was before Computer Graphics and all special effects were "real". After years of being on the road in the movie industry he decided to change professions and turned his attention to carpentry and construction. Randy married Laurie who lived in Tehachapi and he knew right away Tehachapi was home for him as well. He later joined our band of "Hardwarians" at Pioneer True Value Home Center. Randy has made himself invaluable because of his great customer service and wealth of knowledge.
Randy helps customers in hardware, plumbing, electrical, garden, and paint, and he really enjoys being Yard Foreman. His domain is one and a half acres with the drive-through lumber building which houses our drywall, redwood, pine, plywood, and dimensional lumber. The yard includes our one-yard concrete mixers, bulk decorative rock, river rock, crushed rock, rock dust, plaster sand, mortar sand and more. The products are available by the bag; tractor bucket (skip), which we can load into your pickup or trailer; or Randy can deliver a truckload. We have block, brick, and other concrete items. The lumber building has our bagged goods like concrete, posthole mix, asphalt, common and plastic cement as well as pellets for wood burning stoves, just to name a few.
Customers are always amazed at the number of items we have that no one else in Tehachapi carries. From tung oil to alder chips for smoking fish, we have it. And now we offer professional sharpening.
