'Putting Art Back in the Classroom'

They're at it again! After a busy season of raising funds for their favorite project, "Putting Art Back in the Classroom", Tehachapi Valley Arts Association has been busy delivering more carloads of art supply donations to local Tehachapi Schools. Project coordinator Gale Caldwell said, "The community events we hold every year such as the three craft fairs, Chalk on the Walk, two photo contests and silent auctions are where we raise our funds for this project. We have a great community here and really appreciate how they always turn out to attend our events. They make it fun, and that takes a lot of the work out of it!" She continued to say, "I love how appreciative the teachers and schools are to receive these supplies, and the paintings and thank you cards the kids send us are adorably sweet!"

Tehachapi Valley Arts Association credits the success of this art supply donation drive to their generous sponsors during their big Chalk on the Walk event which happened last month on August 13 and urges the community to say "Thank You" by patronizing their businesses.

Sponsors for the 2016 Chalk on the Walk event were: Cal Portland Cement Co., Mountain Aire Estates, Lindsey Ornamental Iron, Monica's Junk Iron, Tehachapi Candle Co , Jake's Steakhouse , The Loop newspaper , Bear Valley Springs Cultural Arts Association , Guy & Diana Munday, Dessy & Dessy Law, Seanco Custom Wheelchairs, Dahlia a boutique, Front Porch Bakery, Skylark North Glider Flight School, Aerius Imagery, Bank of the Sierra, Mike & Lara Berard, Michael Jones DDS, Spirited Bead & Klews' Gallery, John the Plumber, Terrance G.
