HELEN F. CHAVEZ MEMORIAL SERVICES
(ROAD CLOSURES & PARKING)
The Mass of Christian Burial for Helen F. Chavez will be held Monday June 13, 2016 at St. Malachy Catholic Church located at 407 West E Street, Tehachapi. Services will begin at 9 a.m.
Due to the large number of mourners expected to be in attendance, parking at the church will be restricted to family and VIP's only. General public parking will be in the Capital Hills area north of Highway 58. For general public parking, exit Highway 58 at the Mill Street exit and proceed north to the parking attendants. Mourners will be transported by bus from the general public parking location to the church.
In order to accommodate the service, there will be a number of road closures surrounding the church and also in the Capital Hills area.
St. Malachy Road Closures
- Mill Street (Closed Southbound at Tehachapi Blvd)
- Mill Street (Closed Northbound at D Street)
- E Street (Closed Westbound at Mill Street)
- E Street (Closed Eastbound at Mulberry Street)
- F Street (Closed Westbound at Mill Street)
- F Street (Closed Eastbound at Mulberry Street)
Capital Hills Road Closures
- Challenger Drive (Closed Westbound at Burnett Road)
- Challenger Drive (Closed Eastbound at Athens Street)
- Magellan Drive (Closed Eastbound at Athens Street)
The road closures will begin at approximately 7 a.m. and are anticipated to remain in effect until approximately 2 p.m. Residents who live within the impacted areas as well as employees for businesses in the impacted areas will be permitted entry with proper identification.
