Local students honored in April

Lions Club of Tehachapi

The Tehachapi Lions Club was pleased to honor three local students for their achievements at their April 21st meeting.

Tehachapi High School's nominee was Piper Meisler. Piper is one of those conscientious students who excels

academically, but has other talents as well. She is a gifted musician who plays the cello in the Tehachapi

Community Orchestra. Piper has a great attitude and is willing to go out of her way to help other students.

Monroe High School's nominee is Lord Evric Long. Lord Evric is a high achieving student and is seen frequently on campus two or more hours after school during tutoring time. According to the teaching staff, Lord Evric is exceedingly polite to everyone on campus and he strives to please his teachers.

At Jacobsen Middle School, Mary Counihan was chosen for this month's award. Mary shows responsibility in all

her academic work. She is cheerful to be around and respects her peers and teachers. Mary exemplifies the school's Six Pillars of Character: Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Caring, Citizenship and Fairness. The staff at Jacobsen is privileged to have such a gifted student attending their school.

The Tehachapi Lions Club would like to congratulate these wonderful students and their families and wish them well on their future endeavors. The Tehachapi Lions always welcome interested members in our community who have a heart for service and a love for our community.
