The Dance Craze hosts "A Red Carpet Affair"

The Lancaster Performing Arts Center filled as 96 dancers waited excitedly for their turn to dance. From two year olds dressed in pink sparkly tutus, to a seven-year dancer tying her pointe shoes, they were all anxious to show the audience what they had learned over the past year.

There were two shows full of dances which showcased beautiful costumes, technique and a passion which the dancers showed on the big and beautifully custom lit stage.

The theme of the recital was “A Red Carpet Affair” and was complete with a red carpet entrance and songs to fit the theme. Music included “Mary Poppins,” “Explosions,” “Teddy Bear Picnic,” “Uptown Girl,” and much, much more.

Dancers showcased a variety of styles including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Christian Lyrical and Competition Team Dances. A favorite dance of the audience was a father/daughter dance performed to “Cinderella.” The audience couldn’t help but tear up seeing dancers aged 3-14 stare up into their daddy’s eyes with huge admiration as they danced together.

The last number of each show included a bow of each dancer to show their favorite “moves” to a song called “Celebrate.”

The Dance Craze opened its doors in Tehachapi in September of last year and has seen a huge turnout of dancers ready to study what they love. The Dance Craze knows that recital is an important part of a dancer’s development and wants to make it as amazing of an experience as possible. It will be hard but they cannot wait to make next year’s recital even better than this one.

Signups for next dance year began June 14 and classes are already almost full. If you are interested in registering for classes starting September 8 or any summer camps or classes, please signup online at thedancecrazeonline.com or call us at
