Johnny's Take and Bake Pizza

Johnny's Take and Bake Pizza opened its doors on Jan 1, 1990. The recipes were obtained from Four Boys Pizza. Johnny's founder named it Johnny's Take and Bake Pizza after her brother John.

She had a vision of creating the freshest pizza in Tehachapi. Trying to get a hot pizza from Tehachapi to Bear Valley and Stallion Springs is a hard thing to do. With Johnny's Take and Bake you take the fresh pizza home and then bake it when it's convenient . Today the new owners still honor the original recipes, staying true to the original vision.

On April 14, 2014, Stephen and Jayme Hensler purchased Johnny's Take and Bake Pizza. Jayme came from a retail background, managing large stores. Steve came from a construction and small business background. In their first year they have been able to learn and grow their pizza business and also get to know Johnny's customers.

Johnny's has expanded its menu this year. Steve and Jayme have added gluten free dough, calzones, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, garlic cheesy bread and Caesar and BLT salads. New pizzas include the Taco, the Bulldog, the Warrior and the Pesto. Most recently, they have added sandwiches to the menu. Their goal is to offer Johnny's customers more menu choices and more healthy, fresh choices.

The Hensler family has called Tehachapi home since the mid eighties. When Steve and Jayme bought Johnny's Take and Bake Pizza, they knew that they were truly part of a great community.
