Events at the Treasure Trove

Come and join the fun. No reservations necessary.

Farmers Market - June 4 to August 13, Thursday evenings 4-7 p.m. at Railroad Park on Tehachapi Blvd., across the street from the store. The Treasure Trove has reserved a booth and has table space available for vendors. Please contact the store for additional information.

Clean Your Closet Day - June 13, Saturday from 10 to 5 is. Artists and Crafters are invited to rent a table for the day and sell art and craft supplies that are no longer wanted. Vendors will remain with their table for the day and are welcome to sell, trade and negotiate as desired. Space is limited. Reserve your table now.

Open Studios at the Treasure Trove

Open Studios at the Treasure Trove do not require reservations – you can come and be inspired to do your best work (or play!) in our comfortable and creative environment any time the store is open. Three hour Open Studio sessions are available for $5. Come on over and get busy being creative! Reservations not required.

Classes at the Treasure Trove

Reservations for all classes with a deposit must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled class. Students may bring their own supplies for classes or purchase supplies at the Treasure Trove. Tuesday afternoons, 2-4 p.m. is Earth Clay with Gloria Moore for $25 per class plus clay and firing charge. A weekly open work shop to explore various methods of working with earth based clay.

Wednesday mornings 10 a.m. -2 p.m. Adventures in Painting with Juanita Niemeyer. A workshop for artists painting with oils or acrylics. Bring your own project or work on a project supplied by the teacher. Juanita is an experienced art teacher and can help with techniques for whatever you want to paint. Paint on canvas, wood, glass, paper or ceramic bisque. $20 per session (not including materials). A variety of materials are available for sale at the Treasure Trove. Come any Wednesday and experience your creativity. Please bring lunch. Lunch break will be half an hour.

June 20, Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Iris Paper Folding (4th of July or Animal Card) with Janet Meabon for $20. Class price includes materials to make one card. Learn to make sensational cards with folded paper. Create a special Greeting. The class price includes materials to make one card. Materials for additional cards will be available for $5.

June 20, Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Wire Work with Bassema Korkor for $35 plus materials. Learn to make beautiful jewelry using specialized wire wrapping techniques.

June 27, Saturday afternoon 1-4 p.m. Fused Glass Luminescent Squares with Leila Kleiman for $50 materials and firing included. Create a glass piece that glows in the dark. Pieces will be 8” x 8”. Pieces will be fired by the instructor and available in about a week.

Reservations and a deposit are required no later than 48 hours prior to the class.

October 17, Saturday afternoon, 1 to 4 p.m. - Polymer Clay with Christi Friesen for $45 plus materials. Frolic, flip and have fun in this polymer clay class with Christi Friesen, award-winning author and international teacher. In “Ocean Otters,” you’ll create your very own pendant and/or brooch featuring a playful otter and his (or her!) habitat. ​Emphasis will be on incorporating resin as the “water” into your piece, composition elements and FUN. Creativity and individual expression always encouraged and nurtured. ​All skill levels are welcome, and all materials will be provided!
