Dorner's barn facade is ready for weddings

The story behind the beautiful silver grey barn wood: It was donated to us by our neighbors, Jim and Trudy Kirby, who live on a 20 acre parcel from the original Cummings’ Family Homestead in Cummings Valley. The homestead was originally settled in the mid-late 1800s by the Cummings family. The 20 acres we live on was part of the original homestead also. Our road name is Old Ranch Road as in the Old Cummings Ranch.

The wood for the barn facade came from a giant chicken coop that was located on the homestead. We don’t know the date the chicken coop was built. I love the history behind the wood and it makes the barn even more special. During my travels around the country I buy antique quilts which I am using for people to sit on. ~ Michelle Dorner.
