TVRPD receives prestigious Award of Distinction

The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District has been selected to receive the 2015 Award of Distinction for Outstanding Technology, Social Media and Marketing bestowed by the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts.
The award is presented annually to a single park agency exhibiting innovative and groundbreaking public outreach practices, and for which the application criteria include visual presentations and statistical outcome of agency web and digital presence (website), social media practices, and innovative marketing strategies.
“Receiving this award is quite the honor,” said TVRPD District Manager Matt Young, “as our park district competed against several very well known, well financed park agencies throughout California. It also speaks to Tehachapi’s outstanding quality of life and ability to trend set in terms of accessing our public parks and recreation.”
The award will be presented May 16 at the 2015 California Association of Recreation and Park Districts Annual Conference in South Lake Tahoe in which former Major League Baseball player and Hall of Fame inductee Steve Garvey will be the keynote speaker.
