Tehachapi Treasure Trove will celebrate First Friday on Friday evening, February 6, from 5 to 8. February's feature will be Inkopelli. Sandra and Joyce have recently joined the Treasure Trove with their Inkopelli Book and Yarn Shop. Come see what they have to offer and join the fun: food, champagne, wine, and conversation.
Sandra Drescher and Joyce Rogers are both avid readers. About six months ago, when they had the option to purchase the inventory from the closing bookstore, Books and Crannies, they grabbed the opportunity. They have recently moved their inventory to the Treasure Trove due to flooding at their former location. We are delighted to welcome them.
Sandra, Joyce and their cats moved to Tehachapi two years ago from Los Altos. They purchased a home up in the foothills with a great view of town and entirely off the grid. Initially the house had a generator that gave them spotty service until they installed 15 solar panels, 44 batteries and two inverters that would "scare an airline pilot" says Joyce..
Sandra has worked in bookstores much of her life, even part-time while she pursued a career in human resources. Joyce has been a computer programmer but at heart is a frustrated artist and writer. Recently she has been making a living in graphic arts, producing t-shirts and bumper stickers. We expect to have some of her graphic work in the store soon.
These two gals met on the Internet and had been in contact for some time from their homes on opposite coasts. When Joyce first flew to Baltimore to meet Sandra, Sandra accidently sprayed her with mace. They will have been married for 7 years in July.
Tehachapi Treasure Trove is located at 116 East Tehachapi Blvd., Tehachapi (across the street from the historic water tower).

The Treasure Trove has over 100 artists on commission, in addition to an extensive line of arts and craft supplies, and artist services.
