The Pat Strong Trio + 2 band performs up-beat easy listening music, sung in three or four part harmony. The group plays all their favorites, which include country, folk, oldies, soft rock, and jazz. They like to "mix it up" –with songs of all kinds – fast and slow, to keep the sound fresh and fun for all ages to appreciate.
Pat Strong leads the band as key vocalist and rhythm guitar player. She makes each song her own with her wonderful full-bodied alto voice. Pat wrote the much-requested Tehachapi song entitled "Come Sit on My Porch," which describes the beauty of each season living in Tehachapi. Amanda Carroll is the band's newest member. Amanda sings soprano leads as well as harmony. Her sweet country and jazz voice adds a beautiful clear soprano sound to the group. Be sure to listen for Lisa Cosgrove's enthusiastic bass guitar sound. Lisa definitely adds a lot of fullness and creative bass playing to the mix. Jack Hill, the group's stunt guitarist, also plays a mean harmonica and sings some of the lead songs in his unique way. His many years of music experience make him an asset to the group, especially with his great lead guitar riffs. Casey Papac sings some of the leads, and blends her deep alto harmony with Pat, Amanda and Jack. To add a bit of a beat, Casey also accompanies the group on the djembe hand drum. The Pat Strong Trio + 2 plays every fourth Friday at La Bella Amore, and every fourth Saturday at Apple Shed; both great food & fun-for-family dining establishments in Tehachapi. Additionally, the group plays at wine tasting events, Farmer's Market, Mountain Festival, and various other parties and events in the Tehachapi area.
