He was there... It wasn't a time for selfie photos – 150-pound teenager George Williamson and his Marines were too busy trying to stay alive. He has no photos of himself from WWII and Korea, and has researched military archives to find images of the places he was and battles he fought. Marines slog through the surf into certain Japanese fire during an amphibious landing . "We were up to our waist or neck in water," Williamson said. "Machine gun fire – you could count on it. If you could pick it off you could get it first. You would run for cover, any natural place so you don't get it [shot], any kind of cover."
