This photo captures a dance held in 1915 to celebrate the arrival of electricity and the first electric streetlights in Tehachapi. This image inspired the street dance mural painted on a building on Tehachapi Boulevard. A partial double exposure makes the street lamp looking especially voluminous – each lamp actually had four smaller globes surrounding one larger one in the center.
