Truly everything for the office & more

For many Tehachapi residents, Witt's Everything for the Office is a one-stop shop for office supplies, shipping needs, furniture and gifts. However, few people know how long this shop has served Tehachapi or of its full range of services. It started in the early 1980s when Marc Witt opened the doors to a small printing shop.

"That was back when there was one blinking light in town to manage traffic, and the BeeKay Theatre was a candy shop," says Laura Coaly, current manager of Witt's.

Laura has lived in Tehachapi since 1982 and was one of the first employees of Witt's current owners, Paul and Mika Amato after they purchased Witt's in 1988. Laura was 16 years old at the time. She and her husband, Greg, took over the managerial reigns in 2016.

Witt's began in a 600-square-foot print shop on South Street that also offered basic office supplies and placed special orders delivered from an Los Angeles supplier. The Amatos took over ownership just after Marc Witt moved it to the Old Town shopping center. As the business and the community grew, Witt's expanded and added a full furniture showroom. In 2001, Witt's moved to its current location on Brian Way, growing to 8,000 square feet of retail and warehouse floor space.

At Witt's, Laura, Greg and their helpful, trained staff offer audio-visual, technological, breakroom, arts, hobby, office, school, furniture, shipping, postal, gifts, janitorial, cleaning and safety accessories and supplies for your business and home, as well as in-house photocopying (self- and full- service), typesetting, printing, business services, faxing, notary and delivery. When you need office furniture, the Witt's team's expertise is unparalleled, including training in ergonomics to assist customers in making healthy workplace choices. Witt's and the Chamber of Commerce host ergonomic workshops that teach the science behind a comfortable and productive office workspace. The next workshop at Witt's will be June 19 at noon.

With over 40 years in business, Witt's is deeply embedded in the community. They sponsor local events and donate to nonprofit organizations. Laura, Greg and their team diligently go the extra mile for their customers. When it comes to serving the Tehachapi community, no job is too small or too large.

Greg has redesigned the space and the business donated new desks and accouterments to help the Chamber teamwork on projects seamlessly.
