Entered into Rest on Feb. 28 in Hanford, California.

Katherine Irine Uli was born to Raymond and Dorothy Jamison on Aug. 19, 1934.

Kay graduated High School in 1952 from Puyallup, Washington. Katherine and John M. Uli married on April 18, 1953. They went on to have their children, Michael, Mary, Jim, Peggy, Frank, Dorothy and Mark.

Katherine was well known in the community. As a wife, mom, official scorekeeper and announcer for Little League and All-Star games. She worked for Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District where she was the Supervisor for West Park Gym. She taught CCD at St. Malachy; she was a value to many lives she touched. She volunteered for Caring & Sharing, VFW, Tehachapi Warriors football, volleyball, and was involved in St. Malachy prayer chain and choir.

Katherine had hobbies as well that she greatly enjoyed. Knitting, crocheting, watching football in person and on TV, traveling and camping. One of her favorite trips was to Medjugorje.

Katherine was well respected and accomplished and held the following: 1972 Job Well Done plaque, 1980-1981 Beta Sigma Phi Lady of the year; 1995 Tehachapi Parks & Recreation employee award; 1996 Tehachapi Little League 25 years of Service award; 2009 Uli Field was dedicated with Tehachapi Little League. In all she gave 28 years of service to Tehachapi Little League through volunteering in the snack bar, board of directors, cook, score keeper and announcer.

Katherine is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Dorothy; her sisters Nancy Mazzini and Leslie Jamison; her husband John; and her oldest child Michael. Katherine is survived by her children, Mary and Bob Yahne; Jim Uli; Peggy and Mike Murdie; Frank and Joy Uli; Dorothy and Leroy Cobb; Mark and Heidi Uli; grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Katherine was feisty, independent, faithful, extremely dedicated, a hard worker and she loved children.

As a mom, Katherine loved deeply, was supportive and very diplomatic. She was always careful to assign chores fairly.

Services will be held at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 407 W. E Street, Tehachapi. Rosary will be held Friday, April 12 at 6 p.m. with a Mass on Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m. There will be a reception to follow at St. Malachy. Father Gregory Beaumont will be officiating.

Wood Family Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
