City of Tehachapi

The Tehachapi City is hosting its first Tehachapi Walks event on Thursday, March 21 at 11 a.m. starting at Centennial Plaza and ending at Kelcy's Café, where participants are invited to join the group for lunch (meal not provided).

The community is invited to attend the event which will encourage light exercise and exploring the assets Tehachapi has to offer. City and police officials along with representatives from different local organizations will partake in the walks, providing community members with the chance to ask questions and create casual conversations.

Tehachapi Walks will be held every Thursday at 11 a.m. and will follow various routes around town. Most routes will be about two miles roundtrip.

Also on March 21, the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District will be launching its "Spring into Action" program. The program is an open challenge to the community to get out and walk/run, cycle or swim utilizing the ChallengeRunner App to log the cumulative exercise data. Leaderboards will be posted on social media weekly to show participants' progress.

Participate as an individual or create a team of your friends, family or coworkers to try to rack up the most mileage. Data will be collected until June 10. Individuals and teams with the highest mileage will receive a prize. Learn more on TVRPD's website: http://www.tvrpd.org/spring-into-action/.
