March has 31 days and each day of this month is a good day to celebrate women getting healthy – and that includes "No More" week, which is held with the hope of ending domestic and sexual violence.

This year, while many are focused on women getting healthy, local author Kathleen M. Kline has chosen to release her memoir, "My Life in the Dark: A Marriage Built on Lies."

"My hope is to celebrate, inspire and encourage women to include getting safe in their plan of good health," Kline said.

"My Life In The Dark" is a powerful memoir that explores the resilience of the human spirit in the face of betrayal, fear and the relentless pursuit of a fresh start.

Kline's story is a testament to the strength it takes to break free from the jaws of deception and create a brighter, authentic future.

"Once the truths about my husband came to light, including 12 blatant lies on our marriage certificate, I found there was more deception lurking beneath the surface of more than just a piece of paper," Kline shared.

Kline openly shares how she found herself trapped in a life filled with tragic circumstances and psychological manipulation – but it was not just herself she needed to consider.

Kline shares how she was forced to make gut-wrenching choices to protect herself and her children.

"Getting free from the suffocating presence of my children's father and my soon-to-be ex-husband proved to not be so easy," Kline said.

No matter how far she ran – even when it included multiple trips and stays in and out of Tehachapi – her ex-husband-turned-stalker was always one step behind her and the kids.

He was a dark shadow threatening to engulf her every move.

"I struggled for safety and stability," she said.

It was a fight to rebuild her life while safeguarding her children.

"But it was worth it. The kids were worth it. I was worth it," she shared.

Kathleen chose to share intimate details of her struggle in hopes of honoring her commitment to God by honestly revealing her experiences over those bumpy years. "So someone may learn from what my children and I went through and be encouraged to say 'no more' and get free, too."

"My Life in the Dark: A Marriage Built on Lies" has been available to the public in paperback and eBook formats on Amazon since March 1.

On March 22, from 4-8 p.m., you can join in the book launch and meet author Kathleen M. Kline at the Cowboys and Angels Boutique, located at 798 Tucker Rd. Ste. 3 (behind FastTrip). You can reach out to Kathleen at Kathleen@DragonflyEditingAndPublishing.com for more information.

"We'd love you to join us on at our Cowboys and Angels Boutique, and not only find out how cowboys and angels play a part in Kathleen's book, but come find out why her book is getting 4 and 5-star reviews," said Joanne Niks, owner of the boutique.
