What's Up in Bear Valley Springs?

January 6, 2024

The year 2024 is here, folks! Let’s make it a great one for our community.

Pickleball is still going on all winter, Monday through Friday from 7:30 til 10:30 a.m., and evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. Contact Rhonda at (661) 428-7461 for more info.

Also, the Oak Tree Tennis Club participated in a fundraiser that raised almost $1,000 to aid Tehachapi High School tennis teams. Around 50 people participated in the second annual fundraiser. Well done, team!

The Equestrian Center always has events going on. The Pony Club, part of the United States Pony Club, promotes the development of young Western or English riders from ages 8-25. Meanwhile, the Housemasters Branch focuses on enhancing adults’ current knowledge or skills. Contact Debbie Swarens at (661) 821-0968 or Gary Yettner at (818) 415-1222.

Also, the Carriage Driving Society meets the second Thursday of each month at the Equestrian Center lounge at 6 p.m. Contact Debbie Cianca Mayer at (802) 343-5483. Email: dciancamayer@comcast.net.

The Horseman’s Association meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Equestrian Center. They strive to promote the interests of all riding disciplines. They also invite us all to participate in the protection, promotion and preservation of our 50 miles of horse and hiking trails.

A recent event that proved very enjoyable to children and parents alike was the performance of “‘Twas The Night,” sponsored by the BVS Cultural Arts Association. It took place Dec. 22 and 23 at the Whiting Center. The play was loosely based on the poem of the same name, and was directed by Andi Hicks and the production manager was Vivette Lund.

Happy New Year to you, friends, and wishing good health and happiness to all.

Bear Valley Springs is a private gated community in which the residents pay an annual association amenities fee. To visit, a non-member or non-resident must arrange with a friend or family member in the community for a guest pass that would permit them to engage in the activities. Guest passes will be checked.
