Celebration of Life
Margaret (Marge) Stevens passed away peacefully in her home on Dec. 18, 2023.
Marge was born in Orange, California on Nov. 20, 1934, to Richard and Constance Sweney of Los Angeles, California.
After graduating Calumet High School in Chicago, Illinois, Marge attended UCLA to become a stewardess. While attending UCLA, she met her husband of 34 years, William (Bill) Stevens at a gas station around the corner from the university campus. Marge left college to become a housewife extraordinaire, raising two children and seamlessly relocating the family every 2-3 years for Bill's job in construction. This included a 2-year residence in Ghana, Africa.
Marge had a passion for volunteering, including being a Cub Scout Master and the Gift Shop Manager for Lancaster Community Hospital. Her hard work was celebrated in 1985 when she was awarded the Women of Achievement Award by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.
In 2013, Marge relocated to Tehachapi and continued her volunteer work as an usher at the BeeKay Theatre, as well as assisting in the office at St. Malachy's Church. She also enjoyed playing bridge and bunco with friends, keeping in shape at Sit and Fit, photography, creating beautiful stained-glass art, crochet, as well as many other arts and crafts.
Marge was predeceased by her son Bill in 2012. She is survived by her daughter Patti, brothers Richard and Charles, nieces Stephani and Vicki, grandchildren Adam and Courtney and great grandson Neeko. Marge was truly loved and will be missed.
