Elizabeth Carol Sheley, 65, passed on Dec. 16, 2023 at her home in Tehachapi.
A Memorial Service will be held Jan. 13 at Tehachapi Church of the Nazarene at noon.
Elizabeth was born April 21, 1958, to Robert and Joan Brooding in Fresno, California. She earned an A.A. degree in Vocational Nursing from Napa College ln 1980, then married Dale Sheley on May 16, 1981.
She is survived by her husband Dale, daughter Rebekah Sheley, sons Stephen, Timothy and Michael, daughter in law- Danielle, grandchildren-Conner, Rylee and Madeline, her mother-Joan Brooding, brothers Greg and john and their families.
She was proceeded in death by her father Robert Brooding and her sister Connie.
Elizabeth was a big-time sports fan and was a regular at the Tehachapi Warriors sporting events. She was a long-time member of the score keepers table at volleyball and basketball games. She worked several years as the north gate ticket salesperson for football games. Elizabeth, along with her daughter, Rebekah, were huge UCLA softball fans.
Elizabeth shared her keyboard talents as one of the musicians for the Church of the Nazarene Worship team. She loved to sew, especially clothes for her grandkids. She also made lots of quilts, blankets and baby items for newborns. She enjoyed painting classes with Rebekah, and she absolutely loved decorating for Christmas.
Elizabeth was a member of the Nazarene Wednesday morning Bible study, that she dearly enjoyed and had an incredible love for the ladies in the class.
It would be a major mistake if it was not said that Elizabeth dearly loved her family, and she had a special love that only a grandmother could have for her grandkids.
