Amy Nelson, beauty revealed – art inspired by nature

December 23, 2023

Amy Nelson.

Amy Nelson is a photographer located in the Kern River valley. She specializes in landscape and nature photography. She has also expanded to wedding and portrait photography.

Amy's love for photography started at a very young age. Growing up in the Los Angeles area, her parents always emphasized an appreciation of nature. The family traveled to the Kern River Valley to escape the busy city life. Her father would give Amy disposable cameras and she would go exploring and hiking taking photos of everything that she could.

Next thing Amy knew she was taking pictures of her family, friends, sunsets and animals. Amy continued to practice her photography throughout the years. Fast forward to today, Amy is a mother of three children 17, 13 and 4. Life is much busier. She works full time at her local brewery and managing her photography business. She is also very involved within the community, and volunteers her services at many local events. Amy feels that living in a small community gives you many options to get to know your community and be involved.

Long term Amy plans to create a mentorship program for local youth, and anyone interested in photography.

"I feel more people need to appreciate nature. I would love to make an impact by inspiring others to volunteer. To get out and enjoy what nature has to offer," she said.

Please join us to welcome Amy during our First Friday event, Friday Jan. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gallery N' Gifts, 100 W. Tehachapi Blvd. Beverages and Refreshments will be served.
