Hale W. Grover, passed away on Nov. 24 at the age of 100.
Born December 7, 1922 in Woodstock Illinois to parents Ray and Nell Grover, he later attended the University of Wisconsin. After serving in the U.S. Air Force during WWII in the Aleutian Islands, he married his late wife Marian in 1946 and the couple later moved to Culver City, California, where they raised their three sons. Hale began work in the auto industry where he enjoyed a long and notable career. In Culver City, Hale was a devoted member of the Optimists Club.
Upon retiring in 1988 the Grovers moved to Tehachapi. The couple enjoyed retirement in Tehachapi and were avid golfers. In fact, Hale played golf often until a couple of years ago.
Hale was preceded in death by his late wife Marian and is survived by his three sons Kent, Jeff and Scott, grandchildren, Brian, Kelly and Marcus as well as great grandchildren, Haley and Ariana. Hale was recently quoted as saying that "watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow was the best part of living for more than a century."
A visitation period was held at Wood Family Funeral Service 321 W. F St., Tehachapi on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
