Shirley Ann Frick August 14, 1948 – October 7, 2023

Shirley was born in Bakersfield to Porter Jack Reed and Thelma Estella Rea on Aug. 14, 1948, and passed away in Tehachapi with her family by her side on Oct. 7.

Shirley grew up in Hilltop and attended Lamont and Mountain View schools before attending Arvin High School. She married Robert Devine in 1968 and her daughter, Rebecca Anne Devine was born in 1971.

She married "The Love of Her Life" Ronald Frick on May 2, 1981. She and Ron had more than 42 wonderful years together.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Ron, and Daughter Becky (Jon) Lacey of Peoria, Arizona. Granddaughter Erika Montgomery (Alfredo), Clinton, Utah. Grandsons Brandon Devine (Tatiana) Escanaba, Michigan, Kyle Lacey, Denver, Colorado, and Ryan Lacey, Thornton, Colorado. Great-grandchildren, Nicholas Mathew Devine, Emily Ann Devine and Ivy Rae Montgomery Estrada. Brothers Jim of Florida and Bob of California.

Shirley was the youngest of 15 kids, being the only one born in California. She is preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Thelma, sisters Jean and Sue plus two sisters who died at childbirth; brothers PJ, Dale, Joe, John, Bill, Tom, Doug and Dan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mission at Kern County or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
